JOY TO THE WORLD (LIVE FOR JESUS)
12/2008
Key Verses
Prov 16:20b – those who trust in the Lord will be joyful (NLT)
1 Thes 5:15 – see that no one pays back evil for evil but always try
to do good to each other and to all people (NLT)
Joy – a cheerful calm delight with rejoicing in a particular
circumstance
Happiness – depends on happenings. The opposite of happiness is
sadness. The opposite of joy is frustration. When you have frustration, nothing
seems worthwhile.
Example from
Work
– Have you ever been at work and didn't like it? The only thing that kept you
going was knowing that you're getting a paycheck at the end of the week. The
joy of our salvation is the same way. Knowing that we will be with God is what
keeps us going here and now. And eternity with God lasts forever; it can't be
spent in a week like a paycheck. Eternity is a long time. Eternity means that
whatever happens to us on earth during the 30, 50, 60, or even 100 years that
we live here is nothing.
Heart for Jesus – The Christmas song says, "Joy to the
world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare
Him room." Do you remember that when Mary & Joseph went to Bethlehem there was no
room at the inn? Jesus was born in a barn!! But the song says to let every heart
prepare him room. I'm telling you to let your heart be a barn for
Jesus!!
Let
your heart be a barn for Jesus.
Let
Jesus be born in your heart.
Let
Jesus live in your heart.
Let
the Spirit of the Lord grow in your heart.
Then
you will grow in the Spirit of the Lord.
Experience
the joy of eternal salvation now by living for Jesus!!
Let
your heart be a barn for Jesus!!
Love – For God so loved the world that He
sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have everlasting life. God sent Jesus here for us. Jesus was born
for us. Jesus died for us. And He asks only one thing from us. He
asks us to love one another. That's it. Love each other.
Love
each other today. Love each other tomorrow. You do know how to love someone,
don't you? Do something for someone. Don't do it for yourself, but do it so
someone else feels good. Share a napkin, compliment their hair, fix their shirt
collar, little things like that. Let someone use your cell phone. Say "Good
Morning" – and mean it. You'll both experience the joy in your hearts, the
special joy that is Jesus Christ.
Closing – My time here is up. But yours isn't.
Your time is just beginning. The song says, "No more let sins and sorrow grow.
He comes to let the blessings flow." Go. Go and live for Jesus!!
Praise
the Lord !!!!!!!!!
